MICHAEL V. GEARY

Michael V. Geary, CAE, brings over thirty years of leadership experience with associations and nonprofit organizations to his role as the President and CEO of the International Facility Management Association (IFMA). In this capacity, Michael is dedicated to advancing the facility management profession globally through education, research, and collaboration.
Prior to joining IFMA, Michael served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) and the SMPS Foundation, where he supported over 7,400 marketing and business development professionals within the architecture, engineering, and construction industries. Before SMPS, he was President & CEO of AmericanHort and the Horticultural Research Institute, the leading trade association and foundation for the horticulture industry. Michael also led the Ohio Produce Growers & Marketers Association and the Nursery & Landscape Association Executives of North America concurrently.
Earlier in his career, Michael held the position of Executive Director at the American Institute of Architecture Students and served in senior roles at the National Association of Home Builders, The Delta Chi Fraternity, and the North American Interfraternity Conference.
An active volunteer, Michael has served on the boards of directors for the Delta Chi Fraternity, America in Bloom, and is currently a board member for the Delta Chi Fraternity Foundation. His commitment extends to the American Society of Association Executives and various local organizations. Born in Kitwe, Zambia, Michael is a graduate of the University of Florida. He earned his Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2000 from the American Society of Association Executives and received a Certificate in Diversity & Inclusion from Cornell University.

John A. Delaney serves as President of Flagler College. He remains Of Counsel at Rogers Towers Law firm and a Principal of The Fiorentino Group, a government affairs and business development firm. Prior to joining those firms, Mr. Delaney served as President of the University of North Florida for 15 years. While at UNF, he also spent a year as the Interim Chancellor of the State University System of Florida and is the second named President Emeritus in UNF’s 52-year history. Prior to his role at UNF, he served as Mayor of the City of Jacksonville. Before serving as mayor, Mr. Delaney was chief assistant state attorney and also general counsel for the city. He is very active in the community, having served on numerous corporate (NYSE, NASDAQ listed companies) and nonprofit boards including chairing both the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and the Jacksonville Civic Council. Mr. Delaney earned his Bachelors and Juris Doctorate degrees at the University of Florida. He is married to his wife, Gena, and they have four children and five grandchildren.

Russell Peacock is the Senior Director of Facility Operations and Property Management whose area manages the structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as building service contracts such as janitorial services and landscaping. Russell’s team with over 100 years of facility management experience is dedicated to providing comfortable, safe, and efficiently run facilities. Russell holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Old Dominion University and is a retired Naval Officer. In the Navy, Russell operated, repaired and refueled the Navy’s finest submarines. Russell has been a leader in the Sustainability Area while his area has reduced electrical energy usage on their corporate campus by over 50% and GuideWell expected to achieve its corporate greenhouse gas reduction goal of a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions when compared to the baseline year of 2017.

As Market Executive for Bank of America, Sheila works closely with the Jacksonville Market President and line of business leaders to create a local market plan that stays true to the company’s brand with a focus on growth, community impact, and building strong connections—both for the bank and its employees. Before transitioning to the Market Executive role, Sheila led Bank of America’s Southeast Region in Portfolio Management for Global Real Estate Services, overseeing 10 million square feet of property across 1,200 facilities in seven states. Beyond her day job, Sheila demonstrates her passion for giving back as the Executive Co-Sponsor for Bank of America’s Military Support & Assistance Group – Jacksonville; she also serves on the Board of Habitat for Humanity – Jacksonville ("Habijax"), where she is a Past Chair, and is a Champion for the American Diabetes Association’s Tour de Cure. A proud Jacksonville native, Sheila earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of North Florida. She loves spending time with her two grown children, scuba diving, traveling, and running.

Chad Guinn is a highly experienced professional serving as the Vice President of Facilities Solutions at Miller Electric Company. Beginning his career with Miller Electric in 2007, Chad has developed a robust expertise in critical facilities, with significant experience in tenant improvement, small projects, and critical maintenance.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management from the University of North Florida, which provided a strong foundation for his career in the industry. Under Chad's leadership, the Facilities Solutions division has continued to thrive, benefiting from his strategic insights and commitment to delivering high-quality results.

William L. Watson serves as the Vice President of Safety & Security at Miller Electric Company, where he oversees the development and implementation of comprehensive safety policies and training programs aimed at ensuring workplace safety nationwide. Mr. Watson brings extensive expertise in Occupational Safety and Health Management, Accident Prevention Programs, Loss Control, and Electrical Safety to his role, enhancing safety standards within the company.
In addition to his responsibilities at Miller Electric, William Watson chairs the NECA Large Contractor Safety Group, highlighting his leadership within the industry. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health and is certified by the National Fire Protection Association with the CESCP Certification. His commitment to safety education extends to his roles as an Instructor for the Electrical Training Alliance, an OSHA-authorized outreach trainer, and an MSHA and NFPA training instructor. Previously, he served as an Adjunct Instructor at Florida State College, focusing on the U.S. EPA Environmental Workforce Development & Job Training Program, as well as the Safety Environmental & Emergency Response Technician programs.
As an acclaimed keynote speaker, William has addressed thousands, highlighting the crucial importance of safety and NFPA code compliance. With invitations from leading industry organizations such as the 7x24 Exchange International, The International Facility Managers Association, the Construction Financial Management Association, and the National Electrical Contractor’s Association, his impactful presentations resonate widely, promoting positive change in the electrical industry.

Thomas (T.J.) Scarbrough is a seasoned professional currently serving as the Director of Facility Solutions for Miller Electric Company, where he has dedicated 16 years of his career. With an extensive background in critical facilities and electrical maintenance, T.J. has been a pivotal figure in optimizing operations and implementing sustainable energy solutions.
A graduate at the top of his class from the NJATC electrical apprenticeship program in 2014, T.J. has continuously advanced his skills by obtaining several key certifications, including his Duval County electrical license, Master Electrician License, and State of Florida Contractors license. His journey into project and facility management began in 2016, where he has played an instrumental role in enhancing the efficiency of electrical maintenance protocols.
T.J. remains passionate about mentoring the next generation of electricians and project managers, emphasizing collaboration, safety, and quality to ensure every project not only meets but exceeds industry standards.
