Membership

IFMA Membership

The membership relationship with IFMA provides a myriad of offerings for learning, growth, community and professional success.

​

For the Facility Manager, IFMA is an essential tool that every FM should have in their tool box. With over 20,000 members, IFMA focuses on leading and sustaining the progress of the profession.

​

The IFMA Jax Chapter boasts a friendly and warm membership that creates and environment of learning and support. In Jacksonville, we focus on:

  • Creating a useful network of professional contacts for a source of information

  • Interesting and informative meetings that help members expand their expertise

  • Tours to local facilities to provide insight on state-of-the art buildings and procedures

  • Social events to forge new relationship and strengthen existing ones

  • Access to the monthly IFMA Journal, IFMS International Membership Directory, various facility management publications, research papers and reference materials

  • Opportunities to attend professional development programs such as the World Workplace Conference and Expo and other local and regional conferences

  • Opportunities to pursue professional credentials with the support of your chapter members

To join the Jacksonville Chapter of the International Facility Management Association, you will need to join IFMA first. Learn more about the various levels of IFMA National membership below. 

FM Professional Member

Professional Membership is open to facility practitioners and educators, whose primary responsibilities are to provide, oversee, or teach one (or more) Facility Management core competency: Communications, Finance, Human and Environmental, Factors, Leadership & Management, Operations, and Maintenance, Planning and Project Management, Real Estate, Technology.

Associate Member

Associate Membership is open to individuals whose primary responsibilities include: business development; sales and/or marketing as a consultant; representation of a manufacturer, vendor, dealer, distributor; and/or provider of facility-related products and services. No more than two representatives in the Associate classification from any organization may belong to any one chapter at a time.

Young Professional Member (Facility Manager)

Open to individuals who are under 35 years of age or younger. Facility Manager Young Professional Membership will not exceed five years. 

Discovery

Limited membership for those interested in facility management or who work in other professions. This membership is available to new members only. 

Student Member

Student membership is open to candidates who are engaged in full-time study at an accredited college or university. At such time as the member is no longer involved in full-time education, he or she shall be reclassified to the appropriate membership category. Verification of full-time student status and expected graduation date is required. 

Retired Member

Retired Membership is open to members in good standing upon their permanent retirement from full-time facility management practice, business development, sales, and/or marketing. Should a retired member return to full-time employment as either a practitioner or in business development, sales, and/or marketing position, he or she shall be reclassified to the appropriate membership category.

Chapter Membership Costs

The cost to be a member of IFMA National is $239. The cost to be a member of the Jacksonville Chapter is an additional $92, whether you are a FM Professional, Associate, Young Professional, or Retired Member. Student Membership in the Jacksonville Chapter is an additional $10.
